Cuban E-Visa for American Travelers

Traveling to Cuba now includes a new digital visa process, making entry procedures easier and more convenient for travelers. What Is the New Cuban E-Visa?

The traditional paper Tourist Card was replaced by the new Cuban E-Visa system. Travelers can now apply online and receive their visa electronically before departure. The E-Visa is valid for a single entry into Cuba and allows stays of up to 90 days, with the possibility of extending once for an additional 90 days while in Cuba.

Paper tourist cards are no longer valid for entry into Cuba. Since January 1, 2026, all travelers must obtain the new digital Cuban E-Visa prior to travel.

Important Information for Travelers Departing from the USA

Travelers flying from the United States are subject to specific travel regulations and visa procedures that differ from those of other countries. The Cuban authorities require travelers departing from the USA to present the appropriate visa documentation at the departure airport before boarding their flight to Cuba.

Because travel requirements for Cuba can sometimes be confusing, our team is available to guide travel advisors and clients through the process and ensure all documentation is prepared correctly before departure.

Additional Entry Requirements

Before traveling to Cuba, travelers must also complete the mandatory online D’Viajeros form, which includes health, immigration, and customs information. Once submitted, travelers receive a QR code that must be presented upon arrival in Cuba, either digitally or printed.

For travelers using the new E-Visa system, the visa must also be activated through the D’Viajeros platform prior to arrival in Cuba.

In addition, travelers must have:

• A valid passport with at least 6 months validity after arrival in Cuba
• Valid international travel medical insurance for the duration of the stay
• A return or onward ticket
