- Drive to Old Havana. Walking tour begins at El Templete. Take in iconic sites such as the Arms Square, La Real Fuerza Fort and the Captains Generals Palace.
- Visit O’208 studio, continue to Jorge Gil studio galley. Right across the street, find the studio of Jose Villa Soberón. Learn about the body of work of the creator of the emblematic statues of “Che” Guevara and John Lennon. Discover how he develops young talents, some of whom have showcased their work in the Biennial of Arts of Havana even though arts is not their primary occupation.
- Past the Old Square and the Saint Francis of Assisi Square, stop at the studio of artist Eduardo Roca Salazar, better known as Choco. Being of African descent and having volunteered as teacher in that continent, it’s no wonder that his ancestry and his take on the racial issue at large are vividly reflected throughout his work. This place is considered by many a mecca for printmakers the world over.
- Lunch at paladar El Jíbaro, in the neighborhood of San Isidro, known for its graffiti and vibrant art movement. Meet the owners, Diana Figueroa and David Roque, a couple amassing Nuclear Physics and Economic degrees as well as PhD and Master titles; who share a passion for culinary and an indomitable entrepreneurial spirit.
- In the afternoon, explore other galleries at your leisure. The Merger, right across the Museum of Fine Arts of Havana, hosts one of the many excellent exhibits of young artist you might want to check out.
- Dinner at paladar Costavino, right in front of the Malecón.
- Head to the lovely neighborhood of Miramar. Visit the studio of Alfredo Sosabravo, one the greatest living artists in Cuba.
- Continue along the 5th Avenue to the studio of Beatriz Sala Santacana. In this place, besides working and exhibiting, Mrs. Santacana conducts workshops for kids. Learn about her impact in the community and the environment through extensive use of recycled materials.
- Further west, find “Fusterlandia”. José Fuster, also referred to as the Cuban Gaudí, has transformed his neighborhood in Jaimanitas into a naïve art theme park.
- Lunch at paladar Santy Pescador.
- Back to Vedado, spend the afternoon at your own pace discovering the work of various Cuban contemporary artists. The studios of Mabel Poblet and Esterio Segura are exquisite options near your accommodation.
- In the evening, bypass the crowd at Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC) to join a group of artists for a farewell dinner at El Cocinero, a paladar situated in the premises of the massive multi-art centre. Founded by X Alfonso, FAC is a private initiative aimed at channelling the immense art talent and passion in Cuba.
